About AgeCalculator.io
Built by a clinician. Designed for accuracy.
AgeCalculator.io is a free suite of professional age calculators built for clinicians, educators, and anyone who needs an accurate answer. This page explains who built it, why it exists, and how we think about accuracy.
Why This Site Exists
In 2023, Pearson quietly discontinued the chronological age calculator from Q-Global — the tool that SLPs, OTs, and school psychologists had relied on for years to calculate precise assessment ages. No warning. No replacement. Just gone.
The free alternatives that remained were either built for general curiosity — how old am I in days, that sort of thing — or lacked the specific features clinical workflows actually require. No Y;M;D semicolon format. No assessment date field. No session history for back-to-back evaluations.
AgeCalculator.io was built to fill that gap properly.
Who It’s For
Two groups of people use this site.
Professionals — SLPs, OTs, school psychologists, and educators who need accurate age calculations for assessments like CELF-5, WISC-V, and WIAT-4.
Everyone else — parents, pet owners, and anyone who wants a fast, honest answer without the fuss.
Who Built It
My name is Iftikhar Anwar. I am an ophthalmologist based in Pakistan.
I want to be straightforward about something: I am not a Speech-Language Pathologist, an Occupational Therapist, or a school psychologist. I have not spent my career administering CELF-5 assessments or writing IEP reports.
What I am is a clinician — and that distinction matters.
In ophthalmology, age-based calculations carry real clinical weight. Retinopathy of prematurity screening, for example, follows strict timing windows based on a premature infant’s gestational and chronological age. Getting that calculation wrong does not produce a slightly inaccurate number. It changes a clinical decision. That understanding — that dates in medicine are not administrative details — shaped how I approached building this tool.
When I looked at what was available after Pearson’s discontinuation, I did not see a tool built with that mindset. I saw calculators that rounded. Calculators that ignored assessment dates. Calculators that gave a result but offered no way to copy it directly into a report. I built AgeCalculator.io because I thought clinicians deserved better than that.
This site is a reference tool. It is not a clinical decision-making system, it does not replace professional judgment, and it does not carry any form of clinical certification. What it does is calculate chronological age accurately — to the day, in the format your assessment manuals require — and get out of your way.
How We Think About Accuracy
Every calculator on this site is built around one principle: a single day should never be the source of error.
That means accounting for leap years. It means supporting assessment dates in the past or future, not just today. It means outputting age in Y;M;D semicolon format — the format CELF-5, WISC-V, WIAT-4, and PPVT-5 scoring manuals actually use — not a format that requires manual conversion.
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) both emphasize the importance of accurate chronological age in developmental and educational assessments. We take that seriously.
What AgeCalculator.io Offers
AgeCalculator.io currently offers four free calculators, with more in active development.
The Chronological Age Calculator is the primary tool. It calculates exact age in years, months, and days from any date of birth to any assessment date, outputs results in Y;M;D format, and saves the last five calculations automatically during your session.
The How Old Am I Calculator gives anyone an instant, accurate answer about their current age — down to the day, with a birthday countdown included.
The Age Difference Calculator finds the exact gap between two dates in years, months, and total days — useful for sibling comparisons, twin assessments, or any situation where relative age matters.
The Dog Age Calculator converts dog years to human years using the 2020 logarithmic formula — not the outdated multiply-by-7 myth.
Every calculator on this site is free, requires no account or login, and works instantly in any browser on any device.
What’s Coming Next
AgeCalculator.io is actively growing. Phase 2 tools currently in development include a Corrected Age Calculator, an Age in Days Calculator, Age in Weeks Calculator, Age in Months Calculator, and a Birthday Calculator.
Phase 3 will add a Korean Age Calculator, School Age Calculator, and Age in Hours Calculator — bringing the total to 12 free tools.
The Corrected Age Calculator is the highest priority. It is one of the most clinically searched tools with no accurate free version currently available.
